Mary Madrigal Obituary

Mary, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Joseph Cipriano and Sharon DeOss, their eldest child. They moved to the Ft Lupton area, when Mary was about 8 years of age.  She attended and graduated, Ft Lupton High School, where she met the love of her life, Ygnacio “Notch” Madrigal.  They were married on February 28, 1964.

Mary and Notch continued to live in Ft Lupton the rest of their lives, raising their 2 daughters, Maxine and Catherine.  Every home was always filled with much love, great food and laughter.  Mary had a way of making every home feel, “warm, full of love and sunshine”, for her beloved family. It was always a place of refuge for her loved ones. Family, was always her priority and if any member, needed a place to stay, they were welcomed. At one time, she cared for her father, Joe, also her 2 sisters, Lydia and Toni, whom she loved very much.

She obtained employment at Bank of Colorado, then, Ft Lupton State Bank in 1983, where she worked as teller, then later, as “head teller”, until her retirement in 2003. She loved working at the bank, all of her bank customers, co-workers, officers and boss, Don Tomoi. Don and his family, became her and Notch’s, closest friends.

Mary lost the love of her life, Notch, in 2002, to cancer. She lived a few years with daughter, Maxine, son-in-law, Bill and granddaughter Lauren.  Mary continued to care for her family, daughters, grandchildren, sisters, sons-in laws and grand dogs.  Mary loved walking her granddog Loki, around the town and saying, “hi”, to all her friends. She loved life and never took anything for granted, appreciating all her blessings, especially her grandchildren.

Her granddaughter Lauren, was born in 1988. She was Mary and Notch’s, “pride and joy”. They helped raise and care for her. Mary especially loved playing Nintendo with Lauren. In 2007, Mary took a trip to Italy, with Maxine, Lauren and Lauren’s friend, Justin, which became a very special memory to her.

Her handsome grandson, Joshua Ygnacio, was born in 2003. Mary enjoyed going to all of his sporting events, cheering him on. Her beautiful granddaughter, Samantha, was born in 2005. Mary loved attending her Lacrosse tournaments, always encouraging her. Mary loved spending her time, at their home, becoming part of their lives, with Catherine, son-in law Brad, Josh, Sammy and granddog, Melo, while sitting on her favorite bench, visiting all the neighbors.

Mary is survived by her daughters; Maxine (Bill) Brooks, Catherine (Brad) Stone, her 3 grandchildren; Lauren Brooks, Joshua Stone and Samantha Stone. Her beloved sisters; Sharlene Markow, Lydia (Steve) Smith, Antonia Veruchi (John Stamato) and Danielle (Tom) Kenny. Nieces/Nephews; Casey (Eric) Ellsworth-Danis, Maria, Jack and Rose Kenny.
