Michael Steve Gallegos
Michael Steve Gallegos departed this world on June 13, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 17, 1952, to Joe and Wanda Gallegos.
At the age of 22 he began a career at the Brighton Post Office where he worked for 36 years until his retirement. He held many positions within the Post Office including being a Union Steward for his fellow employees. Most people will remember him from his service face and friendly demeanor behind the counter at the Brighton Post Office during that time. This is also where he made some lifelong friendships bonding with his coworkers over music, camping and life.
Mike was a devoted father to his 3 girls, Mandie, Tracie, and Mystie. They were the light of his life. When asked what his greatest accomplishment in life was he simply would say “my three girls.” He taught them many things to include not to take life (or themselves) too seriously, how to catch a fish, and how “real music” should make you feel.
Outside of his family, Mike loved joy in music. He was at his happiest, blasting music and sharing this love with his daughters. He also enjoyed being in nature and camping with friends and his girls. In his younger years, he loved playing basketball and was a rather good player. He was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and the Denver Nuggets, a passion he shared with his father.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother and father. He is survived by his three daughters, Mandie (Tim) McBride, Tracie Gallegos (Jason), Mystie (Chris) Bartlett, his sister Deborah (Mike) Brown, his niece Jazmyn Brown and his nephews Jarett Brown and Jadyn Brown. He has 7 grandchildren, Caela, Madisyn, Alyxandra, Joelie, Bradyn, Carsyn, Raeyn and one great grandson, Benson.
