Michael Muniz

Michael Muniz, 60, passed away in Lafayette on March 5th, 2018 surrounded by loved ones.

Michael was born in Brighton, CO on January 16th, 1958 to Delfino and Eleanor (Esquibel) Muniz. He lived in Brighton most of his life, as well as attended school there. It was in Brighton that he met Judie and married her in Oregon in 1988.

In Michael’s spare time he loved going to Central City with his family (especially his mother). He also loved hanging out with friends and the many people in Brighton who knew him. He was outgoing and there was never anyone he wouldn’t talk to. He loved sports and the Broncos. He enjoyed music, especially classic rock.

Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Muniz, and his daughter, Escolastica.

He is survived by his father Delfino of Brighton, his wife; Judie of Arkansas, daughters; Tina of Brighton, Cammi Chavez of Brighton, Michaela (Creg) McCandlish of Arkansas, sons; Michael Jr of Brighton, Del Ray (Christina) of Oregon, Timothy (Diana) of Fort Lupton, Victor (Stephanie) of Brighton as well as grandchildren; Carlos, Delray, Kevin, Lyric, Desteny, Jaydn, July’ssa, Jasmyne, Liliana, Laydn, Jase, Eli, Alexiandra and 1 great grandchild; Milani.

Michael is also survived by his siblings, Delfino (Emma) Muniz, Emerson (Eleanor) Muniz of Brighton and Vivian (Tomas) Arellano of Arkansas. Other survivors include many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 12th, 2018 at 2:00pm at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home.
