Modesto was born to Demostenes Martinez Sr. and Faustina(Vasquez) Martinez on February 28, 1947 in Chacon, New Mexico.
Modesto served in the Army during the Vietnam War were he received a purple heart. Modesto or "Marty" as he was called by his family and friends worked for Hensel & Phelps Construction Company until his retirement after more then 30 years with the company. He enjoyed going to gamble in Black Hawk but most of all he loved spending time with his family especially his grand kids.
Modesto is survived by his son Modesto Martinez Jr. and daughter Brandi Martinez, six grandchildren; Mariah, Ferdinando, Modesto III, Zemar, Zaray and Zanayah, and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his 2 brothers, Robert of Brighton, Albert of Henderson, 2 sisters, Yolanda of Fort Lupton and Evelyn of Denver, numerous nieces and nephews.
Modesto is preceded in death by his parents Demostenes and Faustina, 2 infant grandchildren Brandon and Jordan, brothers Ferdinando, Ernie, Junior and his niece Melanie Martinez.
