Nelda Verona (Holl) Rippe was born on March 15, 1934 to Elmer and Lydia (Brauer) Holl in Lowell Township, Kearney County, Nebraska. She entered eternal life on August 7, 2025.
She graduated Immanuel Lutheran High School in Staplehurst, Nebraska, spending much time in the school choir and Walther league. She attended comptometer school in Lincoln, Nebraska and worked for a gas company there before moving to Denver in 1954 with her sister Arliss and working for public service. She met her husband Arnold while attending Walther League at Hope Lutheran Church in Aurora. They were united marriage on August 21, 1955. To this union were born three children, Sherry, Wanda, and David. She was heavily involved in the family Dairy operation, working alongside her husband. Nelda's happiest times were being a part of the church praising God, teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, LWML, serving as Treasurer for many years, lunch bunch and especially bake sales.
She loved her family, reading her Bible, rainbows, her flower bed, and pulling weeds. Making colorful crib blankets for young mothers was also a passion for her. The small things in life gave her great joy seeing hot air balloons, or rainbow at midnight. All through her life, regardless of the challenges that she faced, she always had the comfort of God‘s promise that He would be there for her, and that He would neither forsake nor abandon her. She was proceeded in death by her parents, siblings Arliss and Clennen, husband Arnold and daughter Sherry. Surviving members are daughter Wanda, son David, grandchildren, Michael Van Scoten, Joshua Van Scoten, Kevin Van Scoten, Kyle Rippe, and a great-grandchild, Makayla Van Scoten. Nelda lived her life as Christ commands us to be kind, honest, sincere, giving praise to God. Let us not cry, but be joyful.
