It is with great sadness and a broken heart that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Paula Lara De Barraza on September 24, 2021.

Paula was born in Aguas Calientes, Mexico on March 24, 1948 to Antonio Lara and Florentina Martinez, where she was one of ten children. She met the love of her life, Jose Luis Barraza when she was 16 years old. Later they would move to the U.S. where they would marry, raise five children and for more than 55 years, spend their lives, dancing, visiting the mountains, cooking and enjoying time with family and friends, always together-never apart.

On March 24, 2021, Paula and Jose renewed their vows, their love and commitment to one another in the presence of their family. Paula fought her illness and continued to enjoy life, with red lipstick on and her husband by her side. She passed away surrounded by her family, with a peace that passes all understanding and into the arms of Christ Jesus.

Paula is survived by her husband, Jose Luis Barraza, her children; Mona Barraza (Jessica), Luis Barraza, Carlos Barraza (Valerie), Angelica Barraza (Jaime), Eddie Barraza (Maria), thirteen grandchildren including her heart Jennay E. Barraza, and five great-grandchildren.
