Randall Lee Prescott – Obituary

Randy died on September 1st, 2025 at home surrounded by loving family. Randy was born December 14, 1948 in Rock Island Illinois. His parents were Kenneth and Winnie Prescott. He had 4 siblings.  Dale (Betty) Prescott, Sandy (Gary, dcsd) Wilharber, Micki (Jim Miller) Prescott and Linda, dcsd (Nick Brandle).  Randy was the youngest and the heart of his family.

Randy is survived by his two children and their families. Sean, Jacquie, Ewan, Quinn Prescott and Dawn, Peter, Sean and Anastasia Satchell. And his ex-wife Vikki Odell.  He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Cheryl and her three children and their families.  Terri and Tory Hanson; Cherie, Abbey and Jude Shaw, Lee Sanders; and Shane, Cassie, Jackson and Hudson Swartz.

He worked for his dad in the sod business when he was a teenager.  He then went on to have several interesting jobs.  He worked at Eagle Signal as an inventory planner.  He worked as a sales manager at Volkswagen and a salesman for Sears Manufacturing in Davenport, Iowa. He also owned a gun business and toured gun shows throughout the Midwest. Randy was among the first dealers in the Quad Cities River Boat Casino industry and eventually became Casino Manager at the President River Boat Casino, where he enjoyed his career.

Randy loved all sports while growing up. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the camaraderie of the links. Randy was exceptionally friendly and welcoming to everyone he met. “There wasn’t a stranger he ever met.”  In his later years, he worked as the Golf Shop Manager at Saddleback Golf Club in Firestone, Colorado. Over the years, he built strong relationships with many members at the golf club and consistently ensured each individual felt welcomed upon entering the club. As players prepared to begin their round on the tee box, he greeted them once more on the speaker, often offering remarks that were both thoughtful and lighthearted.

Randy was deeply valued by both his family and friends. His absence will be sincerely felt.

We all love you and miss you Randog!
