Randy Martinez
Randy Allan Martinez passed away on June 30th, 2023, surrounded by family. He was born on May 25th, 1967, to Sirio and Nellie Martinez. Randy was the youngest of seven children. He was loved and cared for by his family. From the moment he was born you couldn’t help but see how special Randy was and what joy he would bring to his family.
Randy was always the center of his family. As he grew up, he had the same hopes and dreams that many kids have. He loved going to school where he was a proud Bulldog. He graduated from Brighton High School in 1988.
Randy took part and was active in Colorado Special Olympics, winning many medals which he was so proud of. He enjoyed listening to his Golden Oldies and would carry his radio around with him. Randy could never have enough rings. If you gave him a ring for his birthday or for Christmas, he would be so happy.
When Randy’s parents passed away his primary care giver became his sister Janice. She would devote 14 years of her life to unconditionally love her brother. Randy loved the time he was with Janice. They would go out to eat, attend church, and just watch tv together. His favorite show was the Golden Girls where he gave Janice a new name. She now became Rose, and he would often call her by this name. Janice took such good care of her brother and would do anything to make him happy, safe, and healthy.
Randy worked at North Metro where he would proudly bring home his paycheck to his mom. Randy enjoyed the social activities that North Metro provided; he would often meet his girlfriend Rita at the events.
Randy is proceeded in death by his parents, Sirio and Nellie Martinez, sisters Sandra Martinez Ibarra and Judy Martinez Smith, brother Albert Martinez, nephew David Martinez and niece Mary Sanchez. He is survived by his brother Dean (Judi) Martinez, Michael (Josie) Martinez, Janice Martinez, many nieces and nephews, and extended family.
