Ricardo “Rick” Balderas
Ricardo was born in Crystal City, Texas to Juan and Tomasa Balderas on November 28th 1955. He had 6 sisters Maria, Norma, Martha, Rosie, Diana, Sandra and 3 brothers Mario, Juan, and Carlos. Ricardo was raised in Crystal City Texas and attended school there. He moved with his Mother Tomasa to Colorado and that’s where he met the love of his life Rosie. They married on July 30th, 1976.
Ricardo and Rose started their family and eventually had 3 children Erika, Ricky, and Jeremiah. They bought a home in Brighton Colorado and Ricardo worked at the King Soopers warehouse for 35 years. He would always work crazy shifts and get all the OT he could. More work meant more money for his family. Ricardo was a very dedicated and loving man.
Ricardo was an amazing cook. His favorite food was green chile and he loved to make it. He would make enough to give some to everybody. He enjoyed canning his tomatoes and homemade salsa so he could share it with all.
Ricardo had 4 granddaughters and 5 grandsons. He loved all of them very much. They loved when Grandpa would make them “Juicy” eggs. He would always talk with them and tell them stories. It was always a good time going to the Flea Market with Grandpa.
Ricardo put his family first but had many interests. He loved going fishing and letting the kids swim at the lake. He would restore cars and detail them. He liked his vehicles clean and shiny. He loved his Harley Davidson and would keep it clean and polished. He enjoyed traveling back to Texas to visit family and friends. Ricardo liked to go for rides, whether it was on his Harley or in his Truck with music blaring (he loved music too) even if it was just to the store for a pop and some chips.
Ricardo is survived by his wife Rose; his children Erika, Ricky, Jeremiah; and grandchildren Aliza, Orlando, Jaslynn, Josiah, Jaidon, Alyssa, Ariana, Osiris, and Lazarus; along with his brothers Juan, Carlos, and sisters Maria, Norma, Martha, Rosie, and Diana. He is preceded in death by both his parents; brother Mario; and sister Sandra.
