Dick was born in Nampa, Idaho to Harold Engle and Alyce Eidemiller on May 15, 1945, and was the oldest of five siblings. He married Kathy Rauen on September 29, 1964.
Dick spent the first 17 year of his life in the Wilder Idaho area until he moved to Denver, Colorado where he met the love of his life Kathy Rauen. He joined the Navy in 1964 and spent two years abroad until being honorably discharged in 1966. After moving back to Denver, he began his career by working in the telecommunications industry and starting his own business. He then found his passion as a volunteer fireman for the Brighton Fire Department, where he volunteered for over 20 years and served as Brighton Fire Chief for a brief time. He also was a fireman at Fitzsimmons Fire Department, Everett Naval base in Everett Washington and the Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Commerce City Colorado. Dick has also been a member of the Brighton Masonic Lodge 78 for over 25 years.
Dicks many hobbies included anything to do with the outdoors. He also enjoyed bowling, softball, and the Brighton Fire running team. After retirement he and his wife enjoyed their time in the summers living up in Grand Lake, Colorado. He also thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids.
