Richard was born in Fort Morgan, Colorado to Richard and Lena Hernandez and was the oldest son of 10 siblings.
Richard lived the majority of his life in the Brighton and Wattenberg areas. He worked numerous construction jobs when he was younger and then found a job with Barone, as a welder where he stayed working for 15 years. He then left Barone to go to Golden Aluminum Company where he was a production supervisor for another 18 years and after his long time there he then went back to his job at Barone and retired 12 years later. Being the hard worker he was he couldn’t just stay at home however, so he continued to work every summer as a maintenance worker for the City of Brighton.
Richard spent most of his free time with his family and friends making as many memories as possible. Every year he looked forward to winter time so that he could go deer/elk hunting with his best friend Rick, Brother Sam, and friends Manuel and Larry. Richard loved to take picture of everything that he could, he was never caught without a camera. He always enjoyed making all of the Broncos fans take pictures with his Raiders money. He made an impact on every single person he met.
Richard is survived by his 5 children: Judy Ulibarri, Richard Ulibarri, David Hernandez, Cathy Hernandez and Richard Hernandez Jr. 9 grandkids: Richard, Ashley, Mariah, Matthew, Alex, Temo, Harold, Malia, and DeAndre, along with 7 great-grandkids: Riley, Julian, Dominik, Charly, Brodie, Abel and Luna. He was also survived by 8 brothers and sisters. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, one brother Ricky, and one great-grandchild, Drake.
