Robert Michel, whom was born and raised in Brighton, CO, passed away on July 6, 2022 at the age of 89 surrounded by his loving family. In 1951 Robert graduated from Brighton High School and attended one year of college at Colorado Agricultural College, now formally known as Colorado State University. After his year in college, Robert enlisted in the US Army, where he fought in the Korean War, also spending six additional years in the Army Reserves. When he came home from his stint in the military, Robert married Irene Windholz on July 16, 1955 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, and the two remained married for 66 years.
In his younger years, Robert enjoyed to hunt and fish until his dedicated working habits took over his lifestyle. Robert was a workaholic to say the least but he still always had time to be present with his friends and family during their get-togethers. He was an avid sports fan and passionately loved his Denver Broncos. Robert was a loving, hardworking man, and he will be sincerely missed by all of his family and friends.
Robert is survived by his wife, Irene (Windholz) Michel, of Brighton, CO. By her three sons; Rick Michel of Wiggins, CO, Terry (Rhonda) Michel and Rob (Jodi) Michel, of Brighton, CO, along by 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in passing by his two brothers, Jack and Jim Michel.
Private services will be carried out by Robert's family at a later date.
