Robert Valenzuela Obituary

Robert Valenzuela 59 of Brighton, Colorado, died October 16, 2009 at his home. Robert was born on October 8, 1950 in Brighton to Pablo and Feliz (Cuellar) Valenzuela. He married Bonnie (Gregory) in November of 1982 in Brighton.

Robert was a life long resident of Brighton. He graduated from BHS in 1969 and received his Vocational Teaching Degree from UNC in 1975. Robert taught at Brighton High School for 10 years. Helped operate the family Business, Valenzuela's Auto Garage in Brighton for numerous years before continuing his teaching career at Skyview High School from which he retired. Helped operate First Choice Driving School in Brighton for 9 years. Robert loved to play golf and was an avid fisherman and hunter. A very dedicated and devoted Grandfather, who loved to cook for his friends and family. Past Board member of Brighton Hospice of Northern Colorado, and a member of the Brighton Eagles Lodge.

Survivors include his wife Bonnie; Son Douglas Gregory of Denver; Brothers Steve Valenzuela of Parker; Paul (Frankie) Valenzuela of Brighton; Jack (Julie) Valenzuela of Parker; Rick (Liz) of Las Vegas, NM; Sisters Alice Trujillo of Littleton; Rose (Tony) Chunn of Loveland; Bertha (Ray) Holland of Ft. Lupton; and Gloria Valenzuela of Denver and Linda (Glen) Schissler of Dallas Tx.

Robert is survived by his Grandchildren Derik, Michael, Alexus, and Devree and many nieces and nepehews. Preceded in death by both of his parents, three sisters Hilda, Ellen, and Norma and one brother Joe.

Rosary Service 1:00pm Thursday; October 22, 2009 Memorial Mass 1:30pm Thursday October 22, 2009 both at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Brighton.
