Robin L. Spletzer

December 7, 1957 ~ October 6, 2021 (age 63)

My brothers and I would like to capture the essence of our mom, Robin Spletzer. It is with great pride and honor that we are blessed to be her sons.

Robin was born December 7th, 1957 and raised in Newton Falls, Ohio. The youngest of three children, and daddy’s little girl.  She graduated from Newton Falls High School. Her brother Michael had a high school friend named Dan Spletzer. He started coming around more for Robin and couldn’t stay away. His visits with Robin grew into love and a beautiful marriage. She married her lifelong companion on June 12th, 1975.

With very little money and few possessions they decided to take a big risk and move away from their small town. Dan and Robin decided to start their new life in Colorado with their first-born son Jason in 1976.  After planting their roots in Colorado they decided to expand their family with two more boys, Justin and Jeff.  Our mom worked for our dad’s construction company as an office manager for many years before finishing her career as a customer service representative. She was able to work full-time while simultaneously raising us boys. She never missed a single practice, game, school function or any important activities in our lives. Mom always put us three boys first.

Our mom was an extremely active person who never missed an opportunity to try new endeavors or participate in outdoor sports. She found joy in water skiing, softball, golf, disk golf, and fishing.  She took great pride in her health and wellness. She enjoyed Jazzercise, Jeff’s boot camps, 5k races, outside walks and any other opportunity to get her 10,000 steps a day.

Our mom and dad loved to travel and take cruises together. She loved any warm destination with sunny beaches, sand beneath her toes, and warm ocean water. As much as she enjoyed the beautiful beaches, her favorite time of the year was Christmastime. Her fondest part of Christmas was decorating the house, creating crafts, and gifting presents to all of her family members. She found joy in watching others open their gifts.

Our mom was an extremely warm-hearted person and she was the matriarch of our family also known as the “Queen,” and our “Mama Bear.”  She was very charismatic and outgoing and could make friends with anyone. She welcomed everyone with open arms. She made personal connections with so many and touched their lives in a profound way.

While our mom accomplished many things in her lifetime, some of her greatest accomplishments were her successful career, beautiful home with mountain views, 46-year marriage, three sons, and of course her four grandchildren.

During the last two years, our mom fought cancer. She lost her battle with cancer on Oct. 6th, 2021. She is now at peace and reunited in heaven with many friends and family members including her grandson, Tyler. She will forever be our guardian angel.

Robin is survived by her husband Dan, her three sons, Jason, Justin and Jeff, her daughter-in-law, Sarah and her three granddaughters, Jordan, Lily and Riley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Janis Stimac, her two brothers, Sidney and Michael Stimac and her grandson, Tyler Spletzer.
