Obituary for Roger Lee Candelario
(August 22, 1955-October 11, 2025)
Roger Lee Candelario was born in Brighton, Colorado to August Abe Candelario and Dorothy Marie Maldonado and was the youngest of 6 siblings. He married the love of his life, Delfina Sanchez Candelario, August 20, 2022.
Roger spent much of his life in Brighton, Colorado. He attended North Elementary School and Brighton Junior High School. Roger was an assembler at the Denver Box Company in Commerce City, Colorado. Roger was a hardworking man. Even after retirement, he never slowed down- always tinkering, building, painting, and fixing something- his hands and heart forever driven by a love for mechanics and the satisfaction of staying busy.
Roger’s family was a testament to the power of love. When he married Delfina, he didn’t just gain a wife- he lovingly welcomed her four daughters into his life. He took great pride in his role as a father and grandfather, and nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with his five grandchildren. Roger had a soft spot for his furry companions, especially his two beloved cats and his two loyal dogs who never left his side. His unwavering love and support created a beautiful, blended family that will carry his memory forward.
Roger had a deep love for motorcycles. He was known for riding his bike through town and across state lines. His passion for the open road became something he shared with Delfina, introducing her to a hobby that soon became one of their favorite ways to spend time together. Whether it was cruising or relaxing on the porch, Roger and Delfina cherished every moment together. He was a man of generosity and heart. He was kind, humble, and always willing to help anyone in need. Roger’s positive spirit and selfless nature left a lasting mark on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be dearly missed.
Roger is survived by his wife, Delfina, his sisters; Gloria, Alberta, and Dorothy, his sister-in-law, Theresa, his daughters; Jacqueline, Karina, Idette, Marybelle, son-in-law Ivan Sr, and five grandchildren; Yarely, Emily, Willow, Efrain Jr, Ivan Jr.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents; August and Dorothy, twin brother Robert, older brother Abel, brothers-in-law; Danny, Ray, and Richard, and Cameron Perkins, who held a special place in his heart, like that of a son.
