Ronald Fisher Obituary

On April 28, 2023 Ronald Lloyd Fisher went to meet the Lord in his home of over 30 years.  He was 65 years old.

Ronald is survived by his wife Janet Lee Fisher, children Ronda Lee Sergo married to Rick Sergo and Benjamin Owen Fisher, grandchildren Marcus Sergo and Abigail Sergo, Brother William Fisher and wife Linda Fisher, Mother in law Janis Hinkle, sister in law Chris Fisher, Donna Hinds, brother in law Scot Hinds and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by mother Gladys Fisher, Father William Owen Fisher, Brothers Robert Fisher and Kenneth Fisher, father in law Ray Bowles and many other loved ones.

Ronald Fisher was a farmer for 42 years. As a young child growing up memories of riding in the tractor napping while he worked the fields and the dog ran along side of the tractor flood back. He had the occasional breakdown that he had to stop and fix.  It seemed as if Ron lived a life of whatever can go wrong will go wrong.  Not a day seemed to go by that was smooth and without hiccups.  The example he set of never giving up and exploring every avenue in life to get what you need and get the job done was inspirational. Of course picking rye every year is something every dryland farmer’s family endures and at Ron’s direction the Fisher family was as dedicated as any.  Harvest season was one of his favorite’s seasons as he would finally get to see the fruits of his labor taken from the fields. We loved going out and riding the columbines and the atmosphere was filled with excitement and urgency.

Ron did snow removal at DIA for many winters; he also worked in the oil business.  He really enjoyed the freedom those jobs gave him and he did that until his health challenged him.  Ron continued to farm as he could but that was a challenge in its own.

Ronald’s grandkids enjoyed going to the Rockies game with him, and when his grandkids started playing baseball he did his best to be at the games.  Sunday dinner was an important time to enjoy our time together and conversant about our week and plan for the future.

Being a believer in Christ Ron was always encouraging his family to get to know their bible.  He loved sharing verses and interesting Bible stories that apply to life.  He shared his research on subjects such as books, websites, and programs.  His knowledge, ideas, and advice will be missed immensely.
