Ronald D. Nelson, 63, passed away at Banner North Medical Center in Greeley, CO on March 7, 2024.
“Ronnie” was born on January 26, 1961 in Brighton, CO to Harvey and Amelia Nelson, the last born of nine children. He grew up on a farm in Ft. Lupton and remained in the area until 4 years ago when he moved to Greeley. He never stopped missing his true home in Ft. Lupton.
During his life he worked in the construction trades in the area, a large amount with John Newton. His passions included any outdoor activity, be it camping, fishing, barbequing or raising vegetables. He could cook and eat the hottest green chili around.
He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend to many and will be deeply missed. Left to cherish his memories are his sisters Mary Ann Devers-Clayton, NC; Linda (Joe) Shirey-Broomfield, CO; Nancy (Ron) Chambers- Corning, CA; and brother James (Jeanette) Nelson-Keenesburg, CO; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Janice Brekke; his brothers John Nelson, Harvey Nelson, and David Nelson; and his nephew Christopher Nelson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Tabor-Rice Funeral Home, Brighton, CO. A celebration of life memorial will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Ron’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
