Ruth Mae Abbott Siebert (a.k.a Grandma Ruth)
Ruth was born in St Joseph, Missouri to Harold and Ruth Hagins and was the first born among her younger two brothers where they soon after moved and settled in Denver, CO. She married the love of her life, Robert Roy Abbott on February 7, 1951 in Denver, CO.
Ruth was a military wife and lived in Alaska where she had all 3 of her children. She also lived in Louisiana, Germany, Texas, Washington and Virginia. In 1966 when her husband retired she moved back to Denver where she spent the majority of her life until she retired as a bookkeeper from Shamrock Foods. Upon retirement she moved to Vancouver, WA until the passing of her first husband and then Hemet, CA where she met her 2nd husband Richard Siebert before returning to Colorado in 2008.
Ruth led a long and fulfilled life with her greatest passion, dedication and artistic expression in her love for quilting. She made hundreds of beautiful quilts for family and friends and left behind beautiful keep sakes for everyone to admire and enjoy for years to come. She also taught her love of quilting to others. She was an amazing interior decorator and loved going to the casinos.
Ruth is survived by her son Michael Abbott and daughter Penni Sandoval; along with an abundant of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great- great grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by both of her parents; two brothers, Jack and Bob; husbands Robert (Bob) and Richard (Rick) and daughter Lee Anne Kennedy.
