Ruth Brown Obituary

Lena "Ruth" Brown died at Platte Valley Medical Center on May 19, 2005. Ruth was born in Brighton, CO to Howard and Alma Long on March 19, 1939. Ruth was raised and graduated from Brighton High School in 1958.

Ruth married Leroy Brown on April 19, 1958 in Brighton. Ruth has been a lifetime resident of Brighton. Ruth worked at the Terrace Inn for many years until her health began to fail. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She was always the person everyone depended on, whether it was a shoulder to cry on, ear to listen, arms to hold you or cook you something to eat, Ruth was always there. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Ruth is survived by her husband Leroy. Sons Mark (Brenda), Monty (Becky), & Wade, all of Brighton. Grandsons Derek and Zachary. granddaughters Cathleen, Taelor and Cassidy, 3 great-grandsons Joseph, Riley, and Neil and 2 step grandsons Ryan and Joel. Survived by Brothers Glenn (Tracy) of Elk, WA, Jack (Darlene) Long, Ft.Lupton. Bill (Bev) Long Mesa, AZ, Richard (Bertha) Long Brighton, and Wayne Long also of Brighton. Sisters Juanita (Wayne) Adams and Shirley Brown All of Ft. Lupton, Nina "Kay" (Don) Creech Applegate, OR. Sister-In-Laws Marty Williams, Ft. Collins, Annetta Brinkley, Harrison AK, Norma (Jim) Scott, Clinton AK. Brother-In-Law Benny Dean Brown, Thornton. many Nieces and Nephews, Cousins and Wonderful Friends. Ruth was preceded in death by both of her parents, 2 Brothers Roy and Don Long, Father-In-Law, Ben & Mother-In-Law Marie Brown and Brother-In-Law Robert (Bob) Brown.

Visitation 5-8pm Monday Tabor-Rice Funeral Home, Mass of Christian Burial 10:00am Tuesday St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Brighton, CO. Contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2480 W. 26th Ave., Suite 120B, Denver, CO 80211.
