Sandra (Sandy) Perkins of Greeley, CO passed away on the morning of December 22nd, 2023, at the age of 81.

Sandy was born September 17th, 1942, in Westpoint, NE to Rev. George & Elaine Meyers. She spent her early life moving between the Colorado towns of Greeley, Cañon City, Sterling, and Brighton. Sandy and her three younger siblings were kept busy helping their father in his many churches with his ministry. The family did finally put roots down in Brighton, CO where Sandy was a drum majorette for the Brighton band during her senior year of High School. She graduated from Brighton High School in 1960.

Brighton is also where she met her future husband, Royce Perkins. Sandy and Royce were married shortly after she graduated on September 25th, 1960. The following year they welcomed their first child, a son, Troy. Three years after that, Todd, their 2nd son came along and finally three years after that they welcomed their daughter, Stacy. They built their dream home in Hudson, CO on 80 acres and raised their family. Sandra and Royce shared a beautiful life together for nearly 30 years before Royce’s tragic death, after being struck by lightning, in 1990. 

After Royce’s passing, Sandy stayed on their family farm for several years. She eventually sold the farm and moved back to Greeley, CO. An active member of her church, Sandy rarely missed a Sunday service or church gathering. Sandy was an extraordinary decorator and loved to make everything around her more beautiful. The interior of her home and her porcelain doll collection were famous amongst her family and friends.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents Rev. George & Elaine Meyers. Her mother-in-law Wanda Perkins, her father-in-law Lloyd Perkins, her grandson Cody Brown, and her beloved husband Royce Perkins.

Sandy is survived by her siblings- Judy (Jerry) Schmidt, Rick (Lynn) Meyers, and Randy (Dawn) Meyers; Her children- Troy (Karen) Perkins, Todd Perkins, and Stacy (Jeff) Pride; Her Grandchildren- Savannah Hanger, Cierra (Cody) Tracy, Jeffrey (Kelly) Pride, Kayla (Chad) Gabel, Cameron (Idette Briseno) Perkins, Rachel (Alex) Rydgren, and Ryan Perkins; Her Great Grandchildren- Styrling Hanger, Sawyer Hanger, Leiland Tracy, Linley Tracy, Corey Tracy, Elizabeth Pride, Emberlee Pride, Remington Butler, Ryder Butler, Rhippton Gabel, Willow Perkins, Aiden Rydgren, and Mason Rydgren. As well as nieces, nephews, sister and brothers in law and friends, that were thought of as family.
