Steven Phillip Torres, was born on September 16, 1968, in Denver, Colorado to William “Bill” and Consuelo “Connie” (Pena) Torres. Steve was one of four children, two brothers; Jeff and Bill and sister Rosalie.
Steve spent most of his life in Denver, growing up living life as a kid “on the farm” playing outside, cruising the streets on bikes with friends and family. A time when all the kids on the block would hang out until the street lights came on. Steve was always out having his version of fun, whether it was being picked on by his sister or playing with his pet ducks; Bert and Ernie. Growing up he traded up to a bigger bike, always riding his Harley, enjoying the time and soaking up the sun. Steve loved camping, fishing and cheering on his Broncos every Sunday and just spending time with family.
Steve first met Starla and together they had a son; Calvin. Later he married Lena and from the marriage came Ayla. Later he would meet the love of his life; Kindie. They were married on July 4th, 1999, and Steve gained two more children; Chelsie and Joel, loving them as his own.
Steve went on to live his life as the person he was known to be: loving, caring, giving, big hearted and always making people laugh. He loved to take the kids camping and fishing in the mountains, especially to O’Fallon Park and Estes Park. He also loved to sing along to music and play his guitar. Steve loved the BBQ life and sitting around the fire. Steve’s caring spirit was always welcoming and fun.
Steve’s first job was at an Italian restaurant making delicious ricotta cheese. He then went to work in a meat factory before he began driving trucks. Steve often said “truck drivers are the last of the cowboys” and after thirteen years of driving truck, he truly was. Between long distance and early mornings, there was nothing he couldn’t handle.
Steve is survived by his wife Kindie, children; Ayla Torres, Calvin Torres, Chelsie Geers, Joel Geers and his grandson Vincent Torres-Arredondo as well as a godson; Nicholas Torres. Additionally, he is survived by his siblings; Rosalie Lovato and Jeff Torres. Steve was preceded in death by both parents, his brother-in-law; Joe and nephew Jeffrey John Torres Jr.
