Susan Lynn Krause
May 25, 1962 - August 18, 2023
Our beloved Susan Krause (née Loftis) passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on August 18 at the age of 61.
Susan was born in Biloxi, MS, the youngest of three children. Her father’s military career took the family overseas before settling in Aurora, CO, where Susan spent most of her school years.
After high school, Susan became a mother, a role at which she excelled. Her four children and four grandchildren were the center of her universe. She loved showering them with gifts, giving them big hugs, and keeping up to date on all aspects of their lives. She was their biggest cheerleader and fiercest supporter. But she was also a safe shoulder to cry on and a voice of wisdom when life got tough.
She worked hard, but she played harder. Susan loved spending time outdoors, especially with her beloved husband Eric and their family and friends. Whether it was shooting sporting clays, river rafting, skiing, hiking, or simply spending time at their property in east Brighton, Susan’s fun-loving spirit was always on full display.
Her caring nature extended beyond the humans in her life. As an avid animal lover, Susan was never without several pets in her home. Everyone who knew her undoubtedly heard about her beautiful horse, Soldier, and her lovable and loyal Retriever, Outlaw.
She traveled worldwide during her nearly 30-year career as a customer relations and sales representative in the technology and electronic testing sector, allowing her to touch lives around the globe. She loved her job and her co-workers and had recently been promoted to a management position.
Susan saw the best in everyone she met. She truly was the epitome of love and generosity. Whether you knew her for decades or just met her, she would welcome you with open arms. Her warm smile, all-encompassing hugs, and fierce loyalty were unrivaled. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Susan is survived by her husband of 24 years Eric Krause, mother Else Sanness; children Jason (Rebecca) Stewart, Abram (Sixtine) Stewart, and twins Zach & Emily Krause; grandchildren Caleb (21), April (17), Emmett (5), and Soren (2); and her brothers Robert (Elizabeth) Loftis and Paul (Judy) Loftis. She is preceded in death by her father Charles Loftis and stepfather David Sanness.
Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, Sept. 10, at 2 PM at the SE Weld County Jr Fair & Rodeo in Keenesburg.
