Susan M. Wagner

Susan Mary Wagner, 64, of Brighton, passed away June 16, 2015. She was born May 26, 1951 in Morris, MN to Harland and LuEtta (Mayer) Speer. She graduated from Brighton High School in 1969 and married Donald Wagner on August 23, 1969.

Susan worked various jobs including Customer Service Manager for Wal-Mart and volunteered at Platte Valley Medical Center for a few years. Along with her husband, Don, she also helped operate the Wagner Farm as a secretary and also helped to raise numerous neighborhood kids.

In her spare time, Susan loved baking, cooking, cleaning, sewing and visiting with friends and family and drives in the country with her husband, Don. She always made friends feel welcome in her home with coffee and baked goods during the slow winter months of farming. Her favorite time of year was Summer Wheat Harvest.

Susan was immaculate and impeccable in her yard work and had an eye for hummingbirds. Her first love was her children and grandchildren who were the apple of her eye. She was always involved in their lives and never missed an event.

Susan is survived by her father, Harland Speer of Berthoud; children, Matthew (Sherie) Wagner of Anton, Timothy (Amy) Wagner of Brighton and Rebecca Wagner of Hudson; brother, Larry (Elaine) Speer of Fort Lupton; four sisters, Janis (Gary) Holt of Brighton, Debbie (Andy) Windholz of California, Nancy (Ray) Speer of Firestone and DeeDee (Jeff) Kozial of Berthoud; eight grandchildren, Molly, Megan, Austin, Joel, Jayden, Isaac, Alison and Dakota.

She is preceded in death by her mother, LuEtta Speer in 2006 and her husband, Don in 2008.

Private family services were held.
