Therese "Terri" (Manzanares) Lujan

Therese (Terri) Lujan was born September 3, 1941 and was welcomed into heaven’s embrace May 28, 2020 at the age of 78. She was born in Erie Colorado to Filiberto and Emerenciana Lujan, and settled in Brighton Colorado the majority of her life.

Terri was the kind of person that was always on the move. She read five books a week, could crochet an Afghan in the blink of an eye, knew the name of every plant and flower in existence, had the ability to cook any dish, desert or meal you could dream of, and never let any one of her family members go long without a visit. Her outgoing, adventurous and fiercely independent ways led her to many places and people in her life. Always flitting off to California and New Mexico to visit her abundance of family and friends. Whether viewed as a sister, a friend, a cousin, a niece, a mother, or a grandmother, she was loved and adored dearly by all. Terri will be remembered for so much. Her unique laugh and the beautiful smile that reached her eyes. Her unmatched crafting skills. The way she took the time to know the individuality of each person she loved. Her uncanny knack for gift giving. Her strength and drive to give herself extraordinary experiences. To see new places. To fill her life with adventure. Her independent soul and fiery spirit. And above all else, the love and pride she had for her culture, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, and every member of her family far and wide. She will be so deeply missed by so very many hearts. 

Terri was preceded in death by 11 siblings, and her son Andre Manzanares. She is survived by her sister, Viola Valdez, her children, Elijio Manzanares III (J.R ) Eric Manzanares, Yolanda Rivera, and Monique Sanchez. Her grandchildren; Eric Jr, April, Adam, Amanda, Lynette, Lee, Jeremy, Jessica, Anthony, Krystle, Erika, Victor Jr. and Angelique, as well as twelve great great grandchildren

A viewing will take place Wednesday June 3rd, 2020 at Tabor Rice Funeral Home in Brighton Colorado, at 4:00pm. A rosary will be held for her Tuesday June 9th, 2020 at Saint Augustine Church in Brighton, Colorado- time TBD. Catholic Mass and Funeral to be determined at a later date.
