Thomas Anton Tingle, was born on November 16, 1948 and spent the next 76 years living life as big as possible. Tom passed away in his home on February 3rd of natural causes.
Born in Newton, Iowa, he soon moved to Nebraska and became a lifelong, diehard Nebraska football fan. Tom started his bike riding obsession at age 4, and was still averaging over a hundred biking miles a week until his passing. He has biked across the states of Colorado, Nebraska and Iowa, and was a spin class regular at Lifetime Athletic Club.
Tom was a graduate of Kearney High School, the University of Nebraska-Kearney, and the University of Wyoming Pharmacy School. Tom served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1972. He is a Vietnam Veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for heroic service. Tom was a pharmacist from 1978 to 2014.
Tom leaves behind his wife, Colleen. In her words, “I lost my best friend, soul mate, work-out partner, mahjong competitor, happy hour accomplice, gardening companion and confidante of fifty years.”
He is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Virginia Tingle of Kearney. He leaves behind his wife, Colleen; Daughter Melissa Tingle; Son, Kyle C. Tingle and daughter-in-law Barbara Tingle; Daughter Laura Tingle Lemcke and son-in-law Michael Lemcke; Granddaughters Lily and Fiola Tingle; Step Grandson Ryland Lemcke; Sister Mary Ellen Barber and brother-in-law Lorlin Barber; Sisters-in-law Jo Powell, Rosanne Hart and Kara Goodnight; Nephews Owen Barber, Jonathan Hart and Austin Hart; miniature schnauzer puppy Bella Tingle; Last but not least, the Lifetime Coffee Club.
The Celebration of Life will be held at Ascent Community Church in Louisville, Colorado on February 22nd at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, please find a bike and ride it for a few miles while listening to the Rolling Stones. Tom would love that.
