Tim Morgan Obituary

Tim was born July 6, 1940, to T J and Mary (Bear) Morgan. He grew up and attended school in Brighton, graduating with the class of 1958 from Brighton High School. As a boy he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his dad.

Tim attended Colorado State University and the University of Northern Colorado. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1958 and received an Honorable Discharge in November of 1966 from the United States Army Reserve. Tim was proud of his service and held all U. S. Military personnel in the highest regard. Later in his life Tim was an avid reader of World War II events and enjoyed visiting with anyone holding the same interest. Tim was a firearms collector and enjoyed spending time shooting with his sons and grandsons.

He started his carpenter apprenticeship in 1960 and spent his working career as a Building Superintendent and Construction Coordinator on many projects in the Denver area. He spent the last 10 years of his working career as Building Coordinator at Rocky Flats. In his retirement years, Tim especially enjoyed working in his shop. Family members have received the fruits of his precise woodworking endeavors.

Tim enjoyed viewing wildlife of all kinds. Travels always included time to admire local animals and birds. Identifying local birds was a hobby and he often had his bird book and binoculars in hand. Pets were always in the home and Tim especially enjoyed cats. One special dog lived with the family for 12 years.

Tim was a proud member of the Sons of the American Revolution, The National Rifleman Association, and The Radio Historical Association. He and Judy have been members of the Fort Lupton Boat Club for 35 years and Tim has been President of the club for 34 years.

Boating and water skiing have been favorite activities of the family since Tim and Judy met in 1971. Summers were spent on and in the water-usually at Sand Hill Lake near Fort Lupton. He was especially proud that he was able to visit all of the 50 states as well as Canada, Mexico, England, France, Portugal, Nigeria, Oman and Tanzania.

Tim is survived by his wife, Judy; sons T. J. (Ashley) of Denver, Joe (Mena) of Tanzania, Tom (Cheri) of Greeley and Kris of Colorado Springs; 2 grandsons, Taylor and Tanner and 3 granddaughters, Katie, Mary and Maiya; and sisters Joyce Morgan of Maine and Georgie Dewey of Greeley. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou Morgan; a sister, Jean Nadler and his parents.

A Celebration of Tim's Life will be held Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Harvest Fellowship Church, 11401 E. 160th Avenue, Brighton, Colorado.
