In Loving Memory of Timothy Martinez
Timothy Martinez, 61, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and selfless service.
Born on August 15, 1964, in Denver, Colorado, to Fred and Rosalie (Sanchez) Martinez, Tim was the second oldest of four children. In his early twenties, he made Brighton, Colorado, his home, where he devoted himself to raising his family and building a life rooted in hard work, compassion, and love.
Tim dedicated 20 years of service to Adams County before retiring. Retirement did not slow his desire to help others. He later joined VIA, where he provided transportation for elderly and disabled individuals, helping them get to medical appointments, grocery stores, and wherever they needed to go. If you ask anyone it was his true calling. He found great fulfillment in serving others with kindness, patience, and respect.
To know Tim was to know laughter. He had a quick wit, a sharp sense of humor, and always seemed to have the perfect smart remark ready. His ability to make people smile, even during difficult times, was one of his greatest gifts. His humor was simply who he was, and it is one of the many things those who loved him will miss most.
Above all else, Tim loved his family. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and an incredibly proud grandfather. Time spent with his children and grandchildren brought him his greatest happiness. Whether he was fishing, camping, taking a trip to Black Hawk, or simply enjoying time with those he loved, Tim treasured every moment shared with family.
Tim is survived by his wife, Elke; his daughters, Kristen and Amanda; his stepchildren, Tatum (Robbie), Tyge, and Trent (Eden); his cherished grandchildren, Elio, Nyla, Colin, Ellie, Essence, and Avery; his parents, Fred and Rosalie Martinez; his siblings, Fred (Ramona), Scott (Polly), and Tonia (Izaak); his first wife, Angela, with whom he shared his daughters, Kristen and Amanda; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his in-laws Josie and Toby Bueno and brothers-in-law, Kelly Thomas and Will Thompson.
Tim's life was defined not only by the work he did, but by the love he gave so freely to those around him. His kindness, his laughter, and his unwavering devotion to his family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will be cherished forever.
