Trudie Allen Obituary

Trudie was born in Denver, Colorado on October 8, 1947. She married the love of her life, Dennis James Allen on December 10, 1965.

Trudie spent the majority of her life in Fort Collins, CO, having moved there in 1968 with her husband Dennis and 2 of her sons. She was a cub scout den mother, taxi for kids sports and activities, super-woman mom, worked at Poudre School District holding many roles there until she retired in 2009.  She was a fan of all the Colorado sports teams, but the Denver Broncos were her number one team and she was fanatical.  In fact PS2’s pick 6 against the Raiders on October 6, 2024 was probably the last thing she saw as she was cheering them on.

Besides her family her love for all crafts was a constant in her life.  She was an amazing quilter, which has been her passion for the past 7 years.  Earlier in life she did clothing design and fabrication, oil painting, ceramics, cross stitching, and porcelain dolls.  She even designed and made tiny Victorian era dresses for her dolls.  There was no craft that she wasn’t excellent at and she always put her full attention to being great at what she was doing.

Her other life passion was breading, raising, and showing Maine Coon cats.  She has many to be very proud of, but the #1 cat was their Trutails Court Jester (aka Jesse) GC, BW, NW.  She and Dennis traveled the United States (and some of Europe) showing cats where they developed some amazing life long friendships.  They were active in several clubs and dedicated themselves to being the best they could be…that’s how Trudie did anything.

The past 2 or 3 summers she’s been consumed by her love for landscaping and building a beautiful backyard flower garden oasis.  As with any other passion of hers she threw everything she had at it, learning as much as possible about native flowers and plants.

She is survived by her 3 sons: Troy J Allen, Gregory T Allen, and Michael (Kimberley) D Allen and 5 grandchildren: Danielle (Eric) Nachtigall, Robert Allen, Madison Allen, Siena (Colter) Broadwell, and Derek Allen.  She is preceded in death by her spouse Dennis James Allen and granddaughter Rhianna Rae Allen.
