Tyler Austin Leonhart embarked on his final adventure on December 12, 2024, after a life filled with love and laughter. He was born in Vernal, Utah on June 21, 1982. He was the loving heartthrob of Selene Mercado and a friend to her two children Alejandra and Liam, a devoted and loving dad to his daughter Keira, and the cherished brother to sisters Nora Sevdalian, Deena Wilcox, Mary Beth Anderson, and Andrea Alfaro, not to mention the coolest uncle to his nieces and nephews.
After graduating from Fort Lupton High School, Tyler joined the ranks at Halliburton, where he was a force of nature as he was in every aspect of his life. His colleagues knew him as the guy who could light up a room with his quick wit and easy smile. A man who never met a problem he couldn't solve with a clever joke or a hearty laugh.
Work was just a small part of Tyler's story. Outside the office, he was a hunter, who found peace in the great outdoors. He shared this passion with his brother and sister Jake and Kaylyn Hottel and his beloved partner Selene. He taught Selene the finer points of tracking and the quiet joy of waiting for the perfect shot.
Tyler's appetite for adventure didn't stop at the forest's edge. He and Selene packed more memories into three years than most do in a lifetime. They turned every trip into an unforgettable adventure. He cherished spending time with Selene, whether they were rocking out at concerts, cheering at sporting events, or exploring Disneyland. Selene introduced Tyler to the wonders of international travel with a trip to Mexico, an experience that opened his eyes to the joys of exploring new cultures, especially if they served tacos.
His sisters will tell you, Tyler was the family's very own stand-up comedian, always ready with a joke, a story, or a playful prank. But beneath the laughter was a heart of pure gold, a man who loved deeply and was loved just as fiercely in return.
As we say goodbye to Tyler, we can almost hear him cracking a joke about how he's gone to a 'better place'—probably a five-star resort with endless hunting grounds, perfect waves, and VIP concert tickets for eternity. His legacy is one of joy, a reminder to live every day with a smile, to embrace our passions, and to make every moment count.
Cheers to Tyler Austin Leonhart, a man who left us far too soon but who gave us enough memories and laughter to last several lifetimes. He may have taken his final bow, but the echoes of his laughter will resonate in our hearts forever. Keep the jokes coming, Tyler, wherever you are, and save us a front-row seat for when we meet again.
