WAYNE ALLEN LONG
Wayne was born October 13th, 1951 to Howard and Alma Long at his childhood home in Brighton. He was the youngest of 13 siblings preceded in death by both his parents and ten siblings. He is survived by his life partner Sharon Skaggs of 23 years, sister Juanita Adams, brother Jack Long, and numerous nephews, nieces, and grandchildren. Wayne joined the United States Army in 1971 and returned to the Brighton area. He was employed by Western Distributing Transportation Corporation as a Safety Supervisor for 10 years.
Wayne always described himself as "just an old hippie" and "not just a pretty face." He adored animals, specifically his cat "Mama." Even though he fit the description of a "grumpy old man" to the letter; he had a huge heart. He loved to go on road trips throughout the state of Colorado, especially the Black Canyon in Gunnison. Wayne also enjoyed traveling outside of Colorado; visiting Vermont in the fall, Yellowstone National Park, South Dakota, California - to see the Redwoods, Utah and more. Wayne died of Covid.
