Sam was born in Bangkok, Thailand to Eddie Armijo and Theresa Rivera. He grew up in Springer, NM. In 1980, he married Janna Claye and readily accepted the responsibilities of a father, adopting Jan’s two sons. He and Jan lived in Brighton, CO and then Thornton, CO until Jan’s death in 2014. Sam dedicated his life to protecting others. He served as a Police Officer in the New Mexico State Troopers, for the City of Brighton, and later for the City of Thornton. After retiring from police work, he served as Security Guard at Rocky Flats. Sam is survived by his mother, Theresa; his brother, Ronnie; his son, Brian and his wife Johnna; along with grandchildren, Kenneth and Abbie. Sam loved America and believed strongly in the United States Constitution, the Second Amendment, and the Republican Party. In memory of Sam, please consider making a donation to your political party of choice, although he would prefer that you donate to Donald Trump’s reelection campaign in lieu of flowers.
