It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Scott Boyd, a beloved man to many people. He departed from this world on January 5, 2024. Scott, as he was more affectionately known, left an indelible mark on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him, and his legacy will forever be etched in our memories.
Scott was born on July 6, 1954 in Fort Worth, Texas to Walter and Nancy Boyd. Brought up in a military family with his three sisters, they relocated frequently and Scott developed a strong love for his country, eventually joining the Navy in 1972 and serving on the USS Kitty Hawk.
Scott’s patriotism went far beyond his own military service as he devoted much of his time and energy in recent years contributing selflessly to various charitable causes, veteran initiatives and honoring the memory of those killed in action by participating annually in the Run for the Wall. His strong dedication to his country and fellow servicemen and women earned him respect and admiration of those who crossed his path.
Scott's life was a testament to resilience, kindness, and commitment to supporting those around him. As a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, Scott brought warmth and compassion to every interaction. His infectious laughter and genuine smile could brighten even the darkest days, making him a beacon of light in the lives of those he knew and loved.
Scott is survived by his loving and devoted wife Lorraine Brooks; children Erika Miller (Jeremy), Caitlin Boyd (Travis) and Glenn Kirouac; grandchildren Danaka, Braxton and EllaMae Miller; sisters Sharon Blackmon and Leslie Boyd; his loyal canine companion Ruby and a wide circle of friends and colleagues who will miss him dearly.
While we mourn the loss of this remarkable individual, let us also celebrate a life well-lived.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents Walter Scott Boyd and Nancy Dolores Boyd, along with older sister, Vicki Truman.
A memorial service to honor William Scott Boyd's life will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery on February 9th, 2024 at 2:00pm.
