William Bruce Durán Obituary

William Bruce Durán was born on November 2, 1960, to William and Mary Durán in Denver, Colorado. He was the eldest brother of Adelita (Adi) and Aurelia. Bruce enjoyed running and was awarded a varsity letter in Cross Country, which was a highlight of his time spent in high school.

Following his graduation from Brighton High School in 1979, he attended the University of Northern Colorado, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts. He then enlisted in the USA Air Force, got married to Ginny Tellez, and they both rejoiced at the birth of their precious baby girl, Amanda. Later, he worked for the Lakewood Housing Authority while also being active in the reserves. In his off hours, he earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. The remainder of his working years were spent as a Grant Writer for Denver's Hope Center, where his efforts enabled many young learners to get off to a good start in their education.

Bruce loved to make others laugh, even if he was the one being laughed at. He had so much love and happiness in his heart and spread it to everyone he met. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back or the last dollar in his pocket. He enjoyed engaging in conversations about eternal matters and would often share his faith. Bruce was a Christian and accepted Jesus Christ's gift of salvation. He remained a believer and servant of his Savior throughout his life.

During his free time, he enjoyed visiting his aunts, making phone calls to loved ones, fishing, traveling, junking, and spending time with his family. However, his favorite time of all was the time he spent with his daughter, Amanda. He was unceasingly proud of her and treasured every moment and joke they shared.

Bruce is survived by his daughter, Amanda Tellez- Durán: His mother Mary Durán, his two sisters Adelita/Adi (Rod Sanders), and Aurelia (David Ray), along with nieces and nephews Audra, Joshua, and Jesse. In addition, he had four great nieces and nephews Mason, Isaiah, Levi, and Lillian, aunts Josi Harrison and Olvia Sedillo. He was preceded in death by his father William Durán.
