Valerie Lynn Willard

Valerie Lynn Willard, 62, of Brighton, passed away July 10, 2017 at her home. She was born May 28, 1955 in Brighton to John and Beverly (Vincent) Willard. She graduated from Brighton High School in 1973 and continued her education to receive a Bachelor’s of Science in Education in 1977.

Valerie lived the majority of her life in the Brighton area and had worked for the State of Colorado as a Collections Investigator since 1997. She loved to cook for family and friends and always had food for anyone that stopped by. She was involved in the lives of her children in 4-H, baseball and DECA. She was the rock of her family and always had a “serving” heart. For the last few years she helped take care of her mother.

She served as board member of Vincent Properties Corporation and as an older sister, she was a mentor to her younger brothers. Valerie was a devoted mother, daughter and sister who always wore a smile that she shared with everyone.

Valerie is survived by her mother, Beverly Willard of Brighton; three children, Megan Arfsten, Justin Arfsten and Lane Willard all of Brighton; two brothers, Brian (Dana) Willard of Ft. Lupton and Kevin (Heather) Willard of Hudson.

She is preceded in death by her father, John in 1999 and brother, Rob in 1996.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 4:00pm at Harvest Fellowship Church, 11401 East 160th Avenue in Brighton.
